A Whimsical Campground Wedding in the Driftless Region: Dawson + Brandon’s Light and Airy Celebration

On May 30th, 2026, Dawson Anderson and Brandon Morkrid celebrated their love at Sidie Hollow Campground in Viroqua, Wisconsin, nestled in the beautiful Driftless Region. As a light and airy wedding photographer, I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day — it was romantic, whimsical, and filled with so many personal touches that made it uniquely theirs.


The couple began their day with a private first look surrounded by tall trees and soft, filtered sunlight. Dawson looked absolutely radiant, and Brandon’s calm, attentive presence made the moment feel incredibly tender. You could truly feel the emotion between them as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.


The ceremony was one of the most heartfelt I’ve witnessed. Dawson’s mother officiated, creating an intimate and emotional atmosphere surrounded by their loved ones. Their beloved dog stood proudly up front during the ceremony, and Dawson wore a stunning cathedral veil that flowed beautifully in the breeze. She also carried her late father’s wedding ring with her — a quiet, meaningful detail that touched everyone. Brandon looked sharp in his perfect green suit, while Dawson’s striking green gem ring added a lovely pop of personality.


What stood out most was how present and joyful they both were. Brandon stayed calm and attentive to his new wife’s wishes, while Dawson soaked in every beautiful moment of being a bride. Their shared love of camping (which they also honored during their engagement session at a campground) made Sidie Hollow feel like the perfect setting for their day.


After the ceremony, guests enjoyed dinner from Papa’s BBQ — it was genuinely one of the most delicious meals I’ve seen at a wedding. Under a beautiful white tent, Dawson and Brandon personally served cake from Ka Lia’s Kitchen to their guests, a sweet and playful touch that matched the celebratory, whimsical feeling of the entire day. The late May weather was absolutely perfect, and the whole celebration felt light, airy, and full of love.
